AMALFI COAST and its treasures

You will explore the Amalfi Coast. So here for you the best places to discover.

How to reach this paradise without car? By FERRY or BUS !

Let’s start!

VIETRI SUL MARE

Do you want to discover ceramic world? Go by bus or by foot to Vietri.

In the centre of the village you find two main ceramic master families: PINTO Family (in the foto you can see their shop).

The second most important traditional ceramic in Vietri is made by the SOLIMENE Family.

But in vietri there is a special artist, his name is Pasquale Liguori.  His studio is in RAITO VILLAGE that is 1,16 kilometers far from the same town of Vietri sul Mare to whom it belongs.) and his shop is in the centre of Vietri in Corso Umberto I.

In Vietri works also the ceramist, painter Lucia Carpentieri, her shop is just in front of the shop of Liguori brothers.

IIf you want to know something more about ceramic history of the Amalfi Coast, I suggest you going to Raito at the Museum of Ceramics.

If you want to discover another pearl near Vietri, you can continue to walk and reach ALBORI VILLAGE

with its marvellous view.

CETARA

Here in Cetara village, 15 minutes by car or bus from Salerno, you will find a special product: COLATURA DI ALICI, that you can eat in many ways.

The most excellent restaurants in Cetara are the San Pietro

and the Acquapazza.

RAVELLO

Ravello is applying for the title of European Capital of Culture 2020.

Thousands of years of history, an enchanting mountaintop setting on Italy’s most beautiful coastline and views that have captivated countless souls, inspired artists and filled hearts with passion. Yet it’s just the beginning of what you will find in this charming village on the Amalfi Coast. There are still stories to be uncovered along its medieval streets, garden villas and ancient stone pathways. Ravello has been named the City of Music and is home to the Ravello Festival, Ravello Concert Society, Villa Rufolo, Villa Cimbrone the striking Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer and a vibrant cultural scene.

Ravello Concert Society

Ravello Festival

The Ravello Festival is one of the oldest and most renowned festivals in Italy. The Festival as we know it today is the outcome of a number of previous initiatives, and Girolamo Bottiglieri and Paolo Caruso were the chief architects of the annual event that led to Ravello becoming the “City of Music”. The connection between Villa Rufolo, the delightful venue made impressive and welcoming by the Scottish philanthropist Francis Neville Reid, and Richard Wagner was too alluring to pass up the idea of holding concerts in a place consecrated by the visit of the composer himself. During the 1930s the San Carlo Orchestra performed Wagner’s music in Ravello. One of these concerts was attended by the Prince and Princess of Piemonte, and to mark their visit the belvedere between Hotel Sasso and Hotel Palumbo was dedicated to the princess. Something of this spirit remained in the air, and twenty years later Paolo Caruso conceived the bold idea of moving the musical performances from the main square straight to the splendid terrace of Villa Rufolo, on a stage built out over the sea. With the suport of the Provincial Tourist Board, headed by Girolamo Bottiglieri, the idea became reality on the 70th anniversary of Wagner’s death. In the summer of 1953 the first of the “Wagnerian concerts in Klingsor Garden” (as they were styled in the programme) were performed by the San Carlo Orchestra, under the baton of Hermann Scherchen and William Steinberg. For many years Richard Wagner was the Festival’s presiding genius, and his music is still at the core of each year’s programme today.

POSITANO

Positano is a small picturesque town with splendid coastal views, on the Amalfi Coast. The town itself is perched on an enclave on the face of a hill and winds down towards the waters of the Amalfi Coast. Naturally beautiful, all year long the town is always full of people, but if you are planning to visit Positano, it would be best to schedule your trip during the spring season.

NOCELLE

This small mountain village near Positano is the start point for the Path of the Gods Walk. It is a magic villageNocelle is a sleepy ancient hamlet,  where you can enjoy a peaceful stay far away from traffic and noise. Resting at 400 meters above sea level, it enjoys nice views amidst the terraced hillsides. A lovely (but steep!) 1700-step staircase leads to Positano, taking you though breathtaking panoramas that will make you want to stop and gape along the way! you can reach Nocelle in 10 min. by bus from Positano.

In Nocelle you will find our friend ANIELLO CINQUE, a great artist whose art is really envolving our 5 senses.

NERANO

From the times of the Ancient Romans, when the Empire’s elite classes regularly came to spend their summer vacations here, Nerano’s beach of Marina del Cantone has been attracting holidaymakers with its warm, crystal clear waters, in which bathing is feasible from early April to late October.
